The Quest for a Tangram Dragon

A brave Little Triangle seeks a Chinese dragon to bring rain to the thirsty land. Along the way, six other shapes join the quest. How will they use the magic of tangrams to find the dragon they need?

Join Louisville author Christine Liu-Perkins for a fun introduction for the whole family to the classic Chinese tangram puzzle. She will read her picture book, THE QUEST FOR A TANGRAM DRAGON. Then everyone will be invited to make seven tangram puzzles of animals from the story: a butterfly, bat, bird, fish, dog, horse, and Chinese dragon. The story is aimed at ages 5-8, and the puzzles can be enjoyed by ages 5-99.

The book won the 2025 Mathical Book Prize for Young Readers K-2 and was a 2025 Colorado Book Award finalist for Children's Literature.
