At a time in America marked by the Vietnam War, social unrest, and a proliferation of psychedelic drugs, a young man and woman travel on the "Great Hippie Trail" overland to India, bound by a desire to explore a world different than their own, a world of mystery, challenge and discovery. They have no travel guide or maps, and know only that their destination, India, lies somewhere to the far East.

We follow our travelers on what will become known as "The Great Hippie Trail" through European Mideast and Asian countries to and into their destination. The world is their classroom, with each new person and place they encounter a challenging lesson to be learned.

Brus has traveled extensively throughout the world, living in countries in South and Central America, North Africa and Asia. A Buddhist meditation instructor and author, he has been a high school principal, teacher, stage actor and director. He sees his life purpose and challenge as continuing to find the ways and means to be of help to others. He and his wife, Jean, have two children and five grandchildren. Currently, they split their time between their homes in Boulder, Colorado, and Bucerias, Mexico.
